The Camosun Choristers

ABOUT EKLEKTICHOR

EklektiChor is a mixed voice (SATB) choir of 35 singers, based in Victoria, British Columbia.  Our ever-expanding repertoire spans a variety of eras from renaissance to 20th-century, places from Canada to Korea, and styles from madrigals and masses to folk music and spirituals.

The choir was founded under the name "Camosun Choristers" in 1995 by its current conductor, Wade Noble, and a select group of very hard working Camosun College staff members with a desire to start a campus choral group.

Over the years we evolved from a campus-based choir to a community-based ensemble with singers from the larger Greater Victoria area. In 2007 after many years of waning college participation, we decided it was time to re-invent the organization and decided on a new name that more accurately describes our vision.

ABOUT OUR CONDUCTOR

Wade Noble, B.Mus., M.Mus. (U.Vic.)

Wade has lived in Victoria since 1987, during which time he has completed two music degrees and has become an active performer, conductor, instructor and clinician throughout Vancouver Island.
An enthusiastic and exuberant conductor, Wade is well-known for being able to bring out high levels of musicianship from people of widely varying skills and backgrounds. He is dedicated to inspiring the musicians who work with him to reach past their limits and take on increasingly challenging works.
Wade’s other great passion in life is motorcycling, and the bearded and tattooed choral director can regularly be seen (and heard) cruising down the highways.
In addition to his work with EklektiChor, Wade plies his trade in Sooke conducting the Sooke Philharmonic Chorus and Ekoos Vocal Ensemble. Wade also conducts Nanaimo’s 100-voice Malaspina Choir and during the summer he commutes to Comox to conduct the CYMC Festival Chorus.
